Spontaneous and Creative Short Film of a Dying Dragonfly Shot with a Canon 7D

When filmmaker Paul Kroeker happened across a dragonfly that lay dying on his deck, he decided to flex his creative muscles, creating this haunting short film with his Canon 7D and Canon 100mm f/2.8L IS macro lens. Perhaps it’ll inspire you to think outside the box when thinking of things to photograph or film.

That was definitely something. I never thought I would actually feel touched by the death of an insect. Great job.

Aww it’s so sad, as said above it’s only an insect, but there’s visible emotion there, that it’s fighting for every last second. Beautiful short film!

Dragonflies are short lived insects, it’s not unlikely that the insect was dying of old age, what was he going to do, bring it to a vet?

    Touching film.

A *PERFECT* example of how copyright paranoia messes up something of astonishing beauty. The artist’s fear that someone will steal his film caused him to put a stupid watermark over the entire thing.

    Come on dude.

Embrace Creative Commons. And set your work free to be be beautiful.

I can see you don’t speak sarcasm. He was referencing to people who say the same about photojournalists ;)
