The American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) has combined with the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) to form a new photography association with combined benefits of both.

And it seems the big changes are bringing big returns: Instagram just hit 600 million monthly active users, doubling its member count in just two years.

Now Instagram (and its parent company Facebook) are speaking up and denying that it is seeing a max exodus of disgruntled users. The company has released usage figures for the first time in its young life.
Mobile photo sharing powerhouse Instagram announced today that it has passed the 80 million mark for registered members. The service has grown by a whopping 30M since being acquired for $1 billion by Facebook in early April.
