Hotel Ranga, a lodge located on the southern coast of Iceland, is looking for one photographer who is willing to trade landscape photos of the region in exchange for round trip airfare to and room and board in the land of fire and ice.
A hotel in Iceland is offering a unique opportunity for one photographer: in exchange for photos of the Northern Lights, it will provide airfare to the country as well as a month of room and board.
In case you don't watch the news, you should know: there's currently a volcanic eruption in progress in Iceland. Earlier this week, the Bárðarbunga volcano in the Holuhraun lava field began spewing hundreds of cubic meters of lava, providing a perfect photo-op for Icelandic photographer and Guide to Iceland co-founder Iurie Belegurschi.
Most photographers would be happy to capture a photo showing just the northern lights or lava leaping out of a volcano crater. Photographer James Appleton managed to capture a series of beautiful photographs that show both in the same frame. The images were made at Fimmvörðuháls in Iceland.
