The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will probably still end up being one of the most well-rounded, feature-packed Android phones that you can buy this year. It might not dominate every category anymore, but it's competitive across the board and still stands out in a lot of ways.
It just feels like a very well-run phone with no real obvious deal breakers.
As a second generation foldable, Google's done a solid job with the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. It's got dependable cameras and a cover display that feels like a regular phone but unfolds into a spacious 8 inch tablet, all wrapped in a very sleek package.
It's a solid mid-range-ish phone with a lot going for it, as long as you can look past the chunky bezels and super slow charging.
Personally, I'm still a fan, and I always get asked why I like it so much.
With all that being said, the Google Pixel 7a is still a reasonably priced phone with flagship-quality cameras and plenty of helpful smart features that I really like.
The thing is, this isn't some groundbreaking phone; it's not gonna wow you like that. It's just a really, really solid device that builds on last year's model.
The cameras and just the overall package is really hard to beat.
The Pro version might not be that groundbreaking device that Google was hyping it up to be, but it's still one of the best premium Android phones that you can buy right now.
If you're looking for the ultimate Android phone and don't mind paying for it, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is easy to recommend. It's over the top, but man, it's a lot of fun to use.
For day-to-day use, the other trade-offs have not impacted my overall experience at all, an experience that has been really positive. This is a great phone with the new norm we're currently living in, offering a more affordable flagship is okay by me.
