Reviewer Consensus
Mediocre
The Canon EOS Rebel T100 is a budget-focused DSLR designed to introduce beginners to manual photography through a simple, lightweight interface. That said, the camera relies on dated components and compromises on build quality, screen resolution, and autofocus speed to achieve its low price point.

Long story short, it's a 2000D / T7 with a lower resolution 18 Megapixel sensor, plastic lens mount, a smaller 2.7in screen and no stabilisation on the standard kit lens.
-
In its favour the EOS 4000D is very easy to use and capable of good image quality.
-
The Canon EOS 4000D replaces the 1300D, but with a lower specification and low-cost camera body. Unfortunately, the camera currently costs more than the model it replaces and there's little to like about the 4000D.
-
The EOS 4000D is Canon's cheapest ever DSLR and is clearly aimed at students on a budget and photography beginners interested in buying their first interchangeable lens camera without having to break the bank.
-
Canon has come up with something super cheap to satisfy those on a budget, but right now you can still pick up cheaper (and better) older models. Although Nikon’s D3400 has been around for a little while, for those looking for their first DSLR it remains the one to beat.
-
Everyone loves a bargain, and there’s no denying that the EOS 4000D represents great value for money. Over time, we would expect the EOS 4000D’s price to fall to perhaps the lowest point ever for a Canon DSLR, but there is a downside.
-
With most of the EOS Rebel T100 / EOS 4000D made up of components from the parts bin for long-superseded Canon DSLRs, there's really nothing much to recommend this camera over rival entry-level DSLRs, apart, perhaps, from the price.
-
Canon is hoping the EOS 4000D will spark the joy of DSLR photography into smartphone snappers.
-
The T100 is a great value for the money, however it's so inexpensive that it lacks almost every advanced feature that experienced pro photographers take for granted on cameras that cost many times more.
-
I don't think you can get anything better. Being a reflex, maybe I know there are some mirrorless cheaper mirrorless, maybe, but as a reflex camera, it's hard to get something better for that price.
