A luxury resort is offering a “dream job” in the idyllic Maldives to an amateur or professional photographer.

High-end travel company Kuoni is advertising a position for its very first Honeymoon Photographer-In-Residence located in the tropical Indian Ocean nation.

Kuoni has dubbed the job of Honeymoon Photographer-In-Residence as “the ultimate assignment” and an opportunity for an aspiring photographers to build their creative portfolio.

While working as Honeymoon Photographer-In-Residence, they will get to stay in luxury accommodations across the four Kuoni resorts at the stunning paradise islands of Kuramathi, Kandolhu, Baros, and Velassaru in the Maldives.

The individual who lands the role at Kuoni is also allowed to bring a photography assistant for the job.

According to Time Out, they will receive around $3,697 (£3,000) for the three-week assignment — in a salary equivalent to over $61,000 (£50,000) per year.

Furthermore, the lucky photographer will have all their expenses, including food and drink, paid for by Kuoni.

In return, they will be sent on an assignment to capture beautiful images of newlyweds that are honeymooning at the resorts.

Before going to the islands, the successful candidate will also receive personal training with Sandra Von Reikoff, a renowned wedding photographer who has shot royal nuptials, including Princess Eugenie’s wedding in 2018.

“Many couples invest thousands of pounds in a top-notch wedding photographer, but when it comes to their honeymoon, they’re often left with subpar selfies or out-of-focus snapshots,” a spokesperson for Kuoni says.

“Kuoni knows that newlyweds deserve the best of the best when it comes to preserving their first trip since the big day and that’s why it’s launching this search for an exceptional honeymoon photographer.

“The selected candidate will have the opportunity to be the lens through which newlyweds can relive their unforgettable honeymoon experience for years to come; capturing the activities experienced amongst Kuoni’s incredible honeymoon destinations.”

To enter the competition, applicants must upload their best portrait shot of a person or couple, along with their best destination shot on Kuoni’s website. They will also need to submit a short rationale explaining why they should be chosen.

The closing date to apply is April 28, with the successful candidate announced on May 10. Kuonisay says that the successful candidate does not need to be a professional photographer and the lucky winner just needs to have a flair for creative content.
