Tamron Teases Four New Full-Frame Lenses for Sony E-Mount

Tamron is giving Sony full-frame mirrorless shooters a reason to get excited today. In a video published to the brand’s Facebook page and YouTube channel, the company is teasing four new lenses for FE-mount: one zoom lens and three primes.

Unfortunately, the teaser doesn’t give much away other than making it pretty obvious that these will be full-frame mirrorless lenses for the Sony system. The teaser opens with a shot of the current Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD and Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD for Sony E-Mount, before revealing the silhouettes of four new lenses. “The world of mirrorless photography—Tamron just made it bigger,” reads the tagline.

The largest of the shadowy lenses is very likely some sort of 70-200mm f/2.8 (although, following the pattern, it’ll probably be a 75-220 or something like that). The other three, likely prime lenses, are anybody’s guess.

You can watch the full teaser above. According to Sony Alpha Rumors, we should expect to see these lenses officially announced and on display at the PhotoPlus Expo in October, so mark your calendars and prepare your wallets for a fresh onslaught.
