NBA Superstar Steph Curry Names His Son Canon
If you’re a die-hard Canon photographer who’s considering naming a child after your favorite Japanese camera company, you can now walk in the footsteps of NBA superstar Stephen Curry. Curry and his wife welcomed a baby boy into the world on Monday, and his name is Canon Curry.
But before you get too excited about the news and begin gloating about it to your Nikon-shooting friends, just know that the Curry family almost certainly didn’t pick the name for photographic reasons.
Steph and his wife are outspoken Christians, and the word ‘canon’ has religious significance — the Biblical canon is the set of books that are consisted to be authoritative scripture.
The English word ‘canon’ comes from the κανών, which means “rule” or “measuring stick” — it’s the standard by which things are judged.
