Beyoncé’s Maternity Photo is the Most-Liked Instagram Post Ever

Beyonce posted a maternity photo to her Instagram account yesterday, and in less than a day, that photo became the most-liked post Instagram has ever seen.

The photo was accompanied by an announcement that the singer is pregnant with twins:

We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. – The Carters

In the span of a day, the photo attracted over 8.5 million likes and over 400,000 comments. The previous record holder was Selena Gomez, who attracted over 6.3 million likes after posting a portrait of herself in June 2016.

With over 93 million fans on the photo sharing network, Beyoncé is also one of the most followed users.

Beyonce’s maternity photos were shot by Los Angeles- and New York-based photographer Awol Erizku, and many of them are reminiscent of classical paintings. A large set of the photos has been published to Beyoncé’s website (warning: some of the images aren’t work safe).
