Kyle Froman: From New York City Ballet Dancer to Acclaimed Photographer

Photographer Kyle Froman has had a rather unique career journey. Before becoming an acclaimed dance photographer, Froman was himself a dancer the prestigious New York City Ballet.

The 4-minute video above is a look at Froman’s life story. He first picked up a camera back in 2005 while still dancing with the NYC Ballet, documenting the ballet company behind the scenes. He later began taking on larger and more serious projects involving shooting portraits of dancers and fashion.

With his background in dance, Froman is able to infuse his dance and fashion photos with feelings of drama and movement. Here are some examples of his work:
