Tip: Place Some Gaffer Tape Behind Your Model’s Ears to Remove Unsightly Glow

Want to remove the glow in your model’s ears when photographing them in front of a bright background? Instead of dealing with the problem in Photoshop, you can fix it during the shoot itself with just a bit of gaffer tape.

This little photo hack comes courtesy of photographer Glyn Dewis, who shared it in this short video on his YouTube channel:

It’s a tip Dewis shares with this quote by photographer Zack Arias: “If you find yourself thinking I’ll fix that later in Photoshop, put down your kit and slap your self hard across the face because you’re being lazy.”

You can find a number of Dewis’ photography tips and techniques in this playlist.
