Adobe has released a new version of the free Photoshop Express for Android, taking advantage of the new KitKat version of the operating system to make numerous speed and performance boosts.

Adobe says under-the-hood tweaks should result in significantly faster times for rendering and loading images from an SD card, especially with the large files created by the latest generation of smartphones.

Also new are sliders to fine-tune exposure, color balances and other adjustments in the “corrections” menu, plus an interface redesign that puts common functions such as cropping and auto-correct at the top of the screen.

Potentially bigger news for folks already using Adobe products on other devices is that the new version of the app integrates with Revel, Adobe’s online image management and sharing service.
