A Brief Exchange: Why You Takin’ Photos of My Car?

briefexchange

Photographer Karl Baden (a part time faculty member in Boston College’s Fine Arts Department) tells us of a brief and humorous encounter he recently had while shooting on the street.

He was driving down the road when he noticed an interesting car parked on the side. After snapping some photographs—including the photograph above—Baden was spotted by the owner of the car.

Here’s how the conversation went down:

Owner: “Hey! What are you doing?”

Baden: “Huh?”

Owner: “Why are you taking pictures??”

Baden: “Is this your car?”

Owner: “Yeah! Why are you taking pictures of it??!”

Baden: “You have a giant toy panda sitting in the driver’s seat of your car, and you’re asking me why I’m taking pictures of it?”

Owner: “Oh. Okay.”
