German Photo Magazine Leaks Nikon D3100 Specs and Pictures

German photography magazine Foto Digital let the cat out of the bag today when it sent its September issue out to subscribers, along with photographs and specs of the yet-unannounced Nikon D3100. Nikon Rumors broke the story, and published some scans of the magazine.

Here are the specs of the camera:

  • 14 MP CMOS Sensor (23.2 x 15.5 mm)
  • Live View
  • 3 Inch LCD
  • ISO Range of 100 – 12800
  • Manual and Automatic ISO Selection
  • 11 Autofocus Points
  • HD Video Recording (1920 x 1080)
  • Costs 650€ (~$830)
  • New EXPEED2 Processor
  • Improved Object Recognition for AF
  • Improved In-Camera Menus
  • Ability to Save Profile Pictures

There’s also a set of new lenses coming:

  • Nikkor AF-S DX 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G ED VR (420€ or ~$536)
  • Nikkor AF-S 85mm f/1.4 G with Nano (1650€ or ~$2100)
  • Nikkor AF-S 24-120mm f/4 G ED VR (1220€ or ~$1550)
  • Nikkor AF-S 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED VR (1000€ or ~$1275)

There you have it. Not sure how something so obvious could have gone by unnoticed over at Foto Digital, but this confirms all the D3100 rumors that have been swirling around in recent weeks. The camera is expected to be announced around August 19th.
