Photographer Joins Forces with Cosplayer to Create Awesome Horror Movie Photos

What do you do if you have an abiding love of horror movies, a phenomenal cosplayer who you work with on a regular basis, and a knack for photography and graphic artistry? It’s obvious isn’t it… you re-create famous horror flicks by shooting an awesome photo series.

At least that’s what photographer and graphic artist David Love chose to do when Leah Burroughs, better known as Callie Cosplay, approached him about doing a photoshoot inspired by the movie Carrie.

“By the time she arrived at my house/studio,” Love tells Popcorn Horror, “I wanted to do every awesome scary movie ever, in time for Halloween.”

Well, they didn’t have time to do “every awesome scary movie ever,” but after a quick sprint to the local costume shop they did manage to re-create X-Files, The Ring, Friday the 13th, Scream, Carrie (of course) and several others. Check out the full series below:

The beauty of being a Photoshop master worthy of the title Graphic Artist is that Love is able to shoot all of these images in his home studio. The concern is to get the character right, a feat accomplished with help from make-up artist Elia Lizcano — background elements are added later in post.
