but not XP… (yes, I know)

…or Nikon D7000. Clearly couldn’t squeeze it in a mere 8 months after the camera launched…

Is it just me, or is Adobe DNG not supported?

great..but I don’t know which version to download and the page doesn’t seem to indicate either…help?

If your PC has an Intel processor, download the x86 one, and if it has an AMD processor, download the amd64 one.

    Here’s how to check: http://www.lytebyte.com/2009/08/04/how-to-check-if-my-processor-is-x86-32-bit-or-x64-64-bit-in-windows/

    It’s not just you looks like Adobe DNG isn’t supported, and I just so happen to only shoot in DNG ;___;

its the amd64 download link.  i’m on an intel 64 and it worked fine.

  • Anonymous

Hmm. OK, I’m still a bit concerned about installing an amd program on intel. I installed the x86 one and nothing happened,  I figured it just needed a reboot.

  • Anonymous

Shouldn’t need a reboot, the amd64 worked right away

Er… sorry, forget what I said earlier. Download the amd64 one if you have a 64-bit processor, and download the x86 one if you have a 32-bit. Sorry about that

The application is not completely new, Microsoft had an “RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer” for years, available for XP. It was not properly adverted, and maybe for a goos reason ;) I’ve tried it, but it was quite sluggish and not practical, removed it almost instantly. Maybe this new piece of software is better and more useful.

ok, luckily had not done anything yet. thanks.

Support for the 7D and t2i but not the 60D.  Doesn’t make sense as they use the same processor.

  • Guest

Confirmed that it does not work with the 60D RAW images.  Microsoft, please address.

hey, does anyone know how to uninstall this again?

AMD64 is just what it got pegged with be refered to. I think it has to do with AMD releasing a general consumer version of a 64 bit PC processor first. The Itanium was the first Intel class, but was primarly marketed towards servers and even at that there was no wide OS support for it.

I hope they add some compatibility. My Sony A290 isn’t listed :(
