An Electronic (Not So) Instant Camera

Niklas Roy built a unique electronic “instant” camera using an old black & white video camera and thermal receipt printer. When turned on, the printer slowly prints the live video feed from the camera onto cheap receipt paper. Since the image isn’t stored anywhere first, the subject has to remain still during the three minutes it takes for the image to be printed.

Ok now, I’m all for cool toys and tech. Old school, new school. but this I just don’t get.

If you don’t get it that’s fine. I don’t get it either. He had a vision and went for it.

You don’t have to ‘get it’ to be cool. It’s like that old saying, “I don’t know art, but I know what I like”

    ‘and now this I like’

‘Get me pictures of spider man printed on a receipt! over 3 minutes!’

I actually kind of dig the effect, I guess that this is the whole point, to get an interesting effect.

Love it! I know it’s not that much useful, but it’s like one of those ideas that are interesting to find every once in a while.
    Also, Moonlight Sonata.
