Apple announced refreshed MacBook Air laptops this morning, introducing the company's latest M3 series processors to Apple's most popular laptop series. The move to M3 brings increased power, faster Wi-Fi, and long-awaited support for two external displays.
It might feel like Apple has been producing its own silicon for a long time now, but it's really only been a few short years. It's been less than two years since we got the M1 Ultra and with the new M3 Max, we've already surpassed its power in a portable form factor.
Last night, Apple's "Scary Fast" event saw the introduction of the Apple M3 family of processors, including the M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max. Apple also introduced updated MacBook Pro models, including a beautiful Space Black version, and the first iMac update since 2021. The event was also significant for another reason.
