The 50mm f/1.4 is not a bad lens, but the newer 50mm f/1.8 seems a better option unless you absolutely need the f/1.4 max aperture.
It is a clear winner here. A very sharp lens even at f/1.4, very nice bokeh, excellent build quality, ultrasonic autofocus and a reduced price compare to the competition. A very nice lens overall, with the very useful focal length on Full frame.
It is an interesting lens, apart from the price which is the biggest blocking point.
