  • Panasonic S5 II / IIX

First out of the gate from a video perspective, I would say skip the Panasonic S5 II and go for the Panasonic S5 IIX. For that extra 200, you're getting so many different things; just being able to record externally on an SSD alone is worth 200 in my opinion.

  • Sony FE PZ 16-35mm f/4 G

Most people will be turned off by the price and the maximum aperture of f/4, but you just cannot beat the amount of zoom control you have with this thing, especially if you're considering using a remote.

  • DJI Ronin 4D

Future fantasy DJI cameras aside, if you need a solid cinema camera with the best stabilization in the industry and the option to add accessories for any filming scenario, DJI has your back with one of the most spectacular cameras I've used in a very, very long time.

  • Panasonic Lumix S1

At the end of the day, the Panasonic S1 is a very well-made camera. I love the way it's designed, the size, the grip, the stabilization is to die for, and of course, the most important one for me, the image quality is just phenomenal on this camera.

  • Fujifilm X-T3

At the end of the day, the X-T3 is a great camera and I'm really excited to see how Fuji takes this and other lines and improves them down the road.

  • Fujifilm X-H1

All that said, I feel like Fuji is really close to an insanely great camera for video. This color science with a couple tweaks could be a wildly popular camera.

  • Panasonic Lumix GH5

There is so much more to great video than resolution and sensor size, and if you want to start taking your footage to the next level, I think the Panasonic Lumix GH5 might be the right camera to help you do that.

  • Sony a6300

[...] I really like this camera. I like it in that you can strip it down to nothing and you're doing great on all fronts almost, except for maybe overheating if you're outside and audio.
