I Shot Crazy Clone Portraits of Singer Rob Cantor
Rob Cantor is a talented musician and songwriter who’s a mastermind at creating viral and creative content. His video titled “Perfect” features him doing 29 celebrity impressions in 1 original song, and has over 14 million views.
I thought it would be great to do a photo shoot that showcased his “multiple personalities.”

I knew coming into this I would have to storyboard everything. I sketched out every possible pose I wanted him to do, including 2 extras to pose as a Rob clone.
We bought 3 sets of suits, shoes and ties and made sure everyone rotated and posed the same way so I would be able to swap Robs head in each of the extras. The process was quick because everything was already planned.
I have a background in painting and drawing before finding my way into creative retouching, which allowed me to take full control of the post-production. Since I already planned out the entire shoot in my head, I knew how the final images were going to look and how much retouching would be involved.
I think it helps to show the talent a rough idea of the concept so everyone is on the same page. I like to photograph moments that I already draw out on paper because that is how my brain works. Once I get the stills I need, I’ll take more fun and organic shots, which end up being really good selects! Here are the final photos in the end:
