Australian underwater photographer Darren Jew has set a new Guinness world record by capturing 9 whales in a single underwater shot.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Jew was swimming off the coast of Tonga when the magical moment came into view. The 48-year-old shooter had previously captured images with up to 7 whales before creating this image.

Digital media exchange company Diimex, which licenses photos from this underwater shoot, shared this video slideshow with some other photos captured during the encounter:

You can also find many more photographs captured by Jew in his online gallery.

Update: Commenters are pointing out that there appear to be other shots out there with more than 9 whales. One example may be a shot by Marty Wolff.
