As a followup to her popular What If Girls Were Internet Browsers series that blew across the World Wide Web at the end of last year, fashion photographer Viktorija Pashuta decided to tackle another similarly pressing question: what if guys were social networks?
As with the first series, she enlisted the help of some high quality stylists/designers and, together, they tried to capture the character of each of the major social networks in a conceptual fashion portrait.
“Even though they share very similar functions and features, each social network has its own character and style,” writes Pashuta on her blog. “Facebook depicted as casual, Twitter as classic, Pinterest as creative, LinkedIn as Business, Instagram as vintage, Flickr as artsy, Tumblr as hip and Google +as innovative.”
The final depictions are, of course, very subjective, but for Pashuta, “this is exactly how I imagined the networks would look like if they stepped down from the computer screens to the streets.”
The series was created in collaboration with Vanichi magazine, and like the Internet Browser portraits these are currently blasting across the Web at quite a clip.
