Shooting the Stanley Cup Finals with Photojournalist Dirk Shadd

Here’s a 2-minute behind-the-scenes video by Monica Herndon that shows how photojournalist Dirk Shadd of the Tampa Bay Times photographs the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team of the NHL.

The footage was captured back in June 2015, when Shadd was setting up remote cameras in the team’s Amalie Arena and shooting rink-side during the Stanley Cup finals.

Shadd has been covering hockey for the Times for over 16 years now. Here are some of the shots he captured during the finals and then shared on Instagram:
