Illustrator Works on a Wacom Tablet with a Northern White-Faced Owl on His Hand

It’s settled, every photographer needs a pet owl… because after watching this video they’ll never again be able to face the task of editing their work on a Wacom tablet without experiencing at least a little bit of owl-envy.

In the captivating video above, a Japanese illustrator who goes by the moniker Satsuma shows off how his Northern White-Faced owl helps him out when he’s doing some work on his tablet. Okay, maybe ‘helps him out’ is a bit of a stretch, but I’d like to think he or she would nip Satsuma if he made a mistake.

I guess a pet owl has the advantage of being nice ‘n’ light. I wouldn’t want to try that with my pet warthog*.

    * No genuine warthog was referenced in this comment.

That WACOM tablet came with a free owl. Might as well use it.

Owls have the best image stabilization for their head!

oWlcom. As a true designer, his owl matches his wacom.

  • socalsal627 .

So Cute – and better than my cat who would just sit on the tablet :)

No, you do not need a wild animal to edit your photos. but you can take your editing soft and hardware to the wild and edit, just be sure to bring your generator/solar panels.

” Dear santa, give me an animal and dont let him live with his family in his natural place.
Because my pleasure is more important than his life “

  • Jason Yuen

That’s not how adoption works. Anyways, Santa is magical and you can’t argue that because he just is.

There’s that negative comment we’ve all been waiting for.

  • Azety

i was trolling. adopting an injured animal or homeless is a good deed.
i was just trolling against pet shop.
The fact that you can buy a life so easily is disgusting.
Today i was buying food for cats ( i dont own one, i feed those on my neighborhood ) at the pet shop, and someone tell me that there is a good price today for little chick. 1,90€ a chick.
    0,90€ a mouse….

im not vegan or peta member and this stuff, but its very disturbing to live in this world …

  • Azety

    :3 so kiss me !

  • Azety

Look my answer to Jason Yuen.

  • Vin Weathermon

I suppose all pets to you are a travesty. Nobody here knows what the relationship of this person is to this bird. For all you know, they are inseparable and happiness is not lacking for either.

  • Negitoro

The reason for the prices is simple my friend. Everyone needs money to survive and breeding costs money. Your statement is conflicting. Would you rather have them pet shops “sell life” at a higher price? Or how difficult do you prefer it to be? I would love to hear your side of the argument.

  • Azety

they are slaves. For people entertainment.

  • Azety

Lets say we could live in a world where nobody could sell a life.

  • Negitoro

Noone’s gonna catch and grow your pets though. It’s like eating meat. Someone has to do the killing.

    Lol whut :P
