Adobe Keeps $10 CC Photography Bundle Available to Everyone Through Dec 8th

A couple of weeks ago, we told you that Adobe was extending its special $10/month Photoshop Photography Program (better known around these parts as the ‘Photography Bundle’) to everybody, even if they didn’t own a previous copy of Photoshop.

That deal was supposed to end on December 2nd but, thanks to widespread positive response from photographers, they’ve decided to extend the deadline to December 8th!

That means you can get Photoshop CC, Lightroom 5, a Behance ProSite, 20GB of online storage, access to Creative Cloud Learn’s training resources and all future upgrades and updates for only $10 per month (when you commit to a one year contract… there’s always a catch) regardless of whether or not you ever owned a previous copy of Photoshop.

Those who do own Photoshop CS3 or above will have until the end of the year to take advantage of the deal, but whichever category you fall into, you should be locked into that price for the foreseeable future just as long as you keep renewing every year.

That’s not to say Adobe won’t raise the Photoshop Photography Program price in the future, but an Adobe rep has been quoted as saying that this ISN’T a special introductory price, so there are no plans to change it currently.

Glad I stumbled upon this deal today because I just got a Mac and I couldn’t install my copy of Photoshop (CS4 student edition for Windows). Hope they won’t raise the subscription fee next year or something.

in other news, Adobe is also offering your credit card info to hackers for free.

They are desperate, the sales model is unintersting for the consumer.
Get them hooked for $10 them raise it to $50 next year.

    I love you Pirate Bay.

“Thanks to widespread positive response from photographers, they’ve decided to extend the deadline.” Translation = not enough people fell for it, so we’ve decided to extend the deadline.

Sounds like Adobe’s model is failing and they are really trying hard to entice customers to pay into their scheme.

They almost had me. Almost… Until I realized they wanted it all up front.

  • Sir Stewart Wallace

There have been multiple accounts of people talking with Adobe customer service who’ve said the price could* go up. And other’s who have said the opposite. :/

    €12.29/m for us in Europe…

  • Mark Dub

I came here for this.. I was not disappointed :)

When is “everyone” not “everyone” ?

When Adobe markets its bundles. Not all regions get access and its never apparent on their website.

  • hermione

Found that I could do everything I need to Paint Shop Pro, no need for an Adobe tax :)

  • Xmas Man

Gotta keep it going a lot longer than 8th December.
Some of us have families and need to buy xmas prezzies, so forking out for 12 months subscription for a product that you never own is a bit steep at Xmas month,

  • haha

    Totally spot on!
You think $10 a month is cheap? Try FREE ! woohoo!
funny thing is that I would have purchased a box copy if they didn’t do subscription model.

  • sdfs

    I get it for free.

We’re talking about an American company. Thats the same people who can not even pronounce NIKON correctly!
They’re not the brightest bunch in the U S of A!

  • GIMP

    GIMP ftw TBQFH.

  • BuFaisal

If only Paint Shop Pro was Mac compatible I would have jumped the wagon.

This is a fantastic deal and I have absolutely no clue why people complain about: Before Photoshop costs thousands of dollars and hundreds more for each update. On a tight budget (say you’re about to start as a freelancer) this was an extreme hurdle.

Now exactly the same thing costs about $10/month. The equivalent of 2 lattes (!!).

Well yes, maybe you will eventually pay more if you calculate it as “I would have bought Photoshop and never updated. So $10/month is actually more expensive… after… 6-10 years.” Yeah, great calculation.

  • Opie

If you speak English, you’re pronouncing “Nikon” wrong. The British pronunciation is just as far from the proper Japanese pronunciation as is the American. That is, unless you’re the pretentious schmuck at whom everyone rolls their eyes when he insists upon saying everything “the right way”.

The only thing “wrong” with Americans is that their country is isolated enough so that self-satisfied, xenophobic morons can cultivate unfounded preconceptions and never have to test them against reality.

I keep seeing this all over the web and probably it’s Adobe’s fault. The monthly fee is $10 (plus tax, where applicable), but you won’t pay it up front.

You do have to make a commitment to pay that fee every month for at least twelve months in order to get that price, but I guess that’s kind of OK because Lightroom is on yearly or less release cycle and chances are they will start adding incremental features to Photoshop CC and won’t ever launch a Photoshop CC2, for example.

I’m writing this from a Barnes and Nobles while drinking a large latte that’s priced at 45% of the monthly price for Photoshop and Lightroom. Both tools do an amazing job with my crappy snapshots and the effort the guys at Adobe put into these tools is, in my humble opinion, worth a lot more than two lattes per month.

Can someone please clarify for me if you actually get to download the programs with this subscription and if it has bridge? Sorry just can’t quite conclude if it does or not and I don’t have a legit copy of PS.

  • Andrei Maxim

I only own the Photography bundle and each application in the Creative Cloud list has either an “install” button or a “buy” button. I can see the “Install” button for the following applications: Bridge CC, Edge Animate, Edge Code CC, Edge Inspect CC, Edge Reflow CC, Exchange Panel, Extendscript Toolkit CC, Extension Manager CC, Gaming SDK 1.3, Scout CC, Touch App Plugins.

So, the short answer to your question is yes, Bridge in included. As far as I know, Bridge was always bundled with Photoshop, so it makes sense to have it this bundle. Also, please note that the regular disclaimers apply: I am not in any way involved with Adobe and my experience with Lightroom or Photoshop is quite limited.
