    Hah. I’m sorry, but no sympathy for him…

    Looks like he left his camera unattended or wasn’t paying attention. When there is the very real possibility of equipment damage, it’s sensible to pay utmost attention. 

    Sometimes you’ve gotta get your feet wet to get a great shot. Maybe he didn’t expect so much water to come in, but seems like he backed away so he wouldn’t get his poor little feet wet. Awww… too bad.

    I’m sorry but if he was paying so little attention that he couldn’t see that wave coming and realise how low his camera was, then nothing could have saved it. 

    Watch sensible photographers work near waves/water and you’ll see them never stray far from their camera, always holding onto the camera strap so they can quickly grab the camera if something unexpected comes up. 

    Leaving your camera sitting unattended as a wave approaches = stupidity.
