The attorney general's office of New York is preparing an insider-trading lawsuit against Eastman Kodak and its top executive which focuses on stock purchases that occurred before a deal with the Trump administration to finance a pharmaceutical venture during the Coronavirus pandemic.
White House trade advisor Pete Navarro went on the CNBC show “Squawk Box" this past Monday and ripped into Kodak's executives. Referring to the allegations of insider trading on the eve of the $765 million deal Kodak struck with the US government, Navarro said what happened was "probably the dumbest decisions made by executives in corporate history."
Kodak's stock price has gone on quite a roller coaster ride over the past week after the company announced a $765M US loan to pivot into generic drug production. But it's not just the price people are talking about -- unusual trading activity and a stock option grant to Kodak's CEO are also making headlines.
