Medical Ad Spoof Pitches Pill that Will ‘Cure’ Your Gear Acquisition Syndrome

Need a little comic relief? Check out this medical ad spoof for Noventus, a pill that will cure you of the dreaded Gear Acquisition Syndrome (GAS)… as long as you don’t mind a little bit of rectal bleeding and an “atrophied sense of self.”

The video was put together by Tony and Chelsea Northrup, and we have it on good authority that it’s making Tony consider a career move to medical ad modeling.

A cross between ads you’ve probably seen for drugs like Cialis and Zoloft, Chelsea begins by outlining the life-destroying effects of Gear Acquisition Syndrome before presenting their own FDA not-approved solution: Noventus. It will help you “take back your life,” just keep en eye out for these side-effects.

  • Rash
  • Hives
  • Swelling of the lips, tongue, and throat
  • Heavy breathing
  • Distorted bokeh
  • Rectal bleeding
  • Spousal anguish
  • Chromatic aberration
  • An atrophied sense of self
  • Death

Check out the full spoof up top for a few giggles this hump day. And remember: no matter how bad your GAS is, do NOT take Noventus.
