Famous Photos Recreated with Star Wars Clone Troopers

David Eger has a fun 365 day photo project called “365 Days of Clones” in which he posts a daily photo involving Star Wars clone trooper action figures. He also has a neat mini-series in which he recreates famous photographs, called “Cloned Photos“. See if you recognize any of these.

If you know what photos these are based on, leave a comment with the name of the photo and the photographer behind it!

P.S. If you like these, you might also want to check out famous photos recreated with LEGO.

The first is the raising of the flag on Iwo Jima, and the last is the Edweard Muybridge experiments with motion pictures to try and prove is a horse’s hooves were all off the ground at once.

I clearly have gaping holes in my knowledge of photographic history! Only the first two look familiar… Joe Rosenthal’s Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima, and Diane Arbus’ Twins. Love the storm trooper take on both!

The fourth image: ‘Boy with a toy hand grenade’, by the late great Diane Arbus!

And the third I think is MLK giving his ‘I Have a Dream’ speech. The image is copied millions of times online, but I can’t find reference to the photographer who made it. Sad, that.

Last one is from Muybridge studies of motion

Is this the 3rd image? Not sure who the photographer was.

Image 5 – (1877) The Horse in Motion; Edweard Muybridge

I don’t recognize the second image.

Second image: perhaps Mitterand and Kohl in 1984?

I don’t get the Diane Arbus photo’s (originals not these) if any one took photo’s like those today they would be over looked as crap, but some how they are famous.
