This is the sequel to my article covering the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee last month. It has been 20 years and thousands of frames and I figure at this time in our political history, it’s probably a good time to close the chapter on this work and seek out a publisher.
I have been covering the American Political Convention since 2004 and it’s hard for me to believe that it has been 20 years since I photographed my first RNC in New York City.

I think it’s fair to say there’s growing anxiety that is accompanying the current coronavirus outbreak, and with seemingly more bad news on the hour, we really don’t know when this thing might bottom out. Now that a little time has passed I thought I would put together a post on my experiences covering “the crazy” at the recent Republican and Democratic Conventions in Cleveland and Philly respectively.
I finally have a chance to write a few thoughts down on the new Nikon D500. Were you (like me) one of the thousands of Nikon photographers who waited seven years for the successor to the D300s?
