Photographing the northern lights is not easy but one lensman managed to do it while taking a nap.

It’s not uncommon for photographers to want to use their chosen profession as a vehicle to do good. There are a number of photography based charities out there and all in all, they’re in it for the right reasons.

Speaking of the right reasons, if you’re a parent, you will really appreciate Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS). It’s an organization that provides the free gift of professional portraiture to parents who are dealing with the loss of a baby.

The New York City subway can be a cold place, metaphorically speaking. Headphones, cell phones, that one Seamless ad they've no doubt already read 600 times, whatever their approach, people go to great lengths to avoid communicating with the other people in the car.

So what happens when one of those people breaks, not only the unwritten rule against talking, but touching! How do people react on the subway when a complete stranger falls asleep on their shoulder?

Wherever you stand on the idea of having children, one of the advantages seems to be the infinite photographic possibilities opened up by having a cute child at your disposal. Whether you're talking Photoshop trickery or just watching them grow up, we've seen plenty of creative and adorable photos and videos come out of the photographic parent/photogenic child relationship.

One incredibly creative example that is currently making the rounds on the Internet is mother and photographer Queenie Liao's series Wengenn in Wonderland.

For his project titled The Sleep of the Beloved, German photographer Paul Schneggenburger set out to capture what a sleeping couple looks like over the course of a night in single images.

Hamilton College assistant art professor Robert Knight has a project titled "Sleepless" that consists of ghostly long exposure photographs of people tossing and turning throughout the night.
