We've seen the 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Contemporary before because it's the current full-frame super-telephoto option from Sigma for mirrorless cameras. What we haven't seen before is a full-frame Sigma that has been specifically adapted for the APS-C-sized Fujifilm lens mount -- until now.
Sigma has announced that it is bringing the 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS and 23mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lenses to Fujifilm X-mount, bringing the total number of Sigma optics for the format to six.
Wildlife photographers who shoot with Sony have been limited when it comes to lens choice. The Sony 100-400mm GM was released in early 2017, but the price ($2,500) was out of reach for many. Last year, Sony released the 200-600mm G, which was a bit more budget friendly ($2,000) but is a pretty large lens to carry around on wildlife hikes.
After some very accurate leaks last week, Sigma has officially revealed four products today: an affordable 100-400mm f/5-6.3 telephoto zoom lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras, two teleconverters for L-Mount mirrorless lenses, and a USB dock for Sigma's L-Mount and EF-M Mount mirrorless lenses.
Sigma is preparing to release a 100-400mm f/5-6.3 'DG DN OS' lens designed specifically for full-frame mirrorless systems like the Sony E- and Panasonic L-Mounts in the very near future. And if the latest rumors are to be trusted, this lens will be extremely affordable (relatively speaking).
