It looks like the idea of sharing front- and rear-camera photos at the same time isn't lucrative enough to be big business. After raising a whopping $4 million from investors, the unusual photo-sharing app Frontback is now announcing that it will be shutting down on August 15th, 2015.
It's out with the old and in with the new: Google today announced its plan to shut down its Google+ Photos service after the launch of Google Photos back in May.

It appears Hasselblad might finally be caving to the opinion that rebranded Sony cameras are not be the best way to keep the once-prestigious brand alive. Almost three years after opening the Hasselblad Design Center in Treviso, Italy -- the goal of which was to create luxury versions of popular Sony cameras -- the company has shut the plant down.
Back in December, Dropbox acquired the photo storage service Snapjoy, seemingly getting ready to jump head first into the cloud sharing battle. At the time, the announcement on the Snapjoy blog rang with excitement, and even though they weren't going to be accepting new signups, they promised that "your photos are safe!"
Well, not anymore. As of yesterday, Dropbox has officially decided to shut down the service -- a decision that was confirmed by Snapjoy on its blog and through an email to all of its remaining subscribers.
Back in early 2010, we received an e-mail asking us to join an up-and-coming photography blog that was trying to bring all of the best contributors, content creators and experts from the world of photography under one roof. It was described as a "photography website that should have been around for the last five years or more" and it was called Pixiq.
At the time we decided to stay independent, but many big-time photographers and photo bloggers took the offer and jumped on the train -- a decision many are undoubtedly regretting: Pixiq was suddenly taken offline today by its owner, Sterling Publishing, just days after the company sent its contributors a warning.
All good things come to an end. Bad ones do too. After denying rumors last month that it would soon be shutting down, the over-funded photo-sharing app Color has now announced that it will indeed be shuttering its service.
