Earlier today, DXOMark issued an apology. The popular sensor testing company revised its controversially low score for the Canon 1D X Mark III, admitting that "erroneous testing data" had affected the scoring and screwed up their initial review. In other words: this sensor is much better than they thought.
DXOMark has published its review of the sensor inside Canon flagship 1D X Mark III DSLR, giving it a surprisingly low score of just 83. That score has photographers questioning if DXO somehow messed up its testing of this brand new, and much-praised, DSLR.

Earlier today, the lab released their official review of the Canon 7D Mark II, and while there were a few bright spots, the tone of the review in general might be summed up by the word 'meh.'
Nikon’s newly-announced D750 has impressed those who have managed to get their hands on it thus far, but to properly put it through its paces, DxOMark ran it through its trusted sensor tests.
As expected, it came out with quite high marks, putting it in 8th place on DxOMark’s overall rankings and making it the 6th Nikon camera to make it into the top 10.
DxOMark is certainly not the be-all-end-all of camera sensor testing outfits, but what it has going for it is consistency and a whole lot of experience. So while you might not put much stock in their sensor scores, DxO is a great resource for comparing sensor performance between models.
We say all this because there are some Nikon fanboys who will immediately be upset by the news that DxOMark claims the new Nikon 1 V3 might not live up to its price tag.
