"Finding Freedom" is a new art book collaborative project between Brandon Crockett, a community volunteer and advertising copywriter, and the renowned photographer Sandro Miller -- yes, the same one that recreated iconic photos with John Malkovich. The book features poetry and portraits from residents at a Chicago halfway house -- individuals who have recently left prison and are attempting to reintegrate with society.

Sandro Miller, known simply as Sandro to most of the photography world, is a portrait photographer who has been creating images for over three decades. In an attempt to record just a small part of the insight and knowledge he’s gained over the years, Gary Martin and Rob Grimm of RGF EDU sat down with Sandro to talk about his studio, life and, most importantly, his career.

Upon first glance, the photo above looks like Dorothea Lange's iconic Migrant Mother photo captured in 1936. Then you realize that the woman in the frame is definitely not Florence Owens Thompson, the woman in the original image. Looking a more closely, you start to notice an uncanny resemblance to actor John Malkovich.

Turns out that is John Malkovich you see. American photographer Sandro Miller collaborated with the actor to recreate some of the most famous portraits captured throughout history. The project is titled, Malkovich, Malkovich, Malkovich: Homage to Photographic Masters.
