This month photography, like everything else, has been dominated by the novel coronavirus and protests. Here are some of the stories and photos that did not make it into our regular coverage.
For Canon, Nikon and Panasonic/Leica/Sigma, 2018-2019 was the first year where they all truly “went for it” when it comes to full frame mirrorless. All three released full-frame mirrorless cameras, and all three seemed to have different priorities with those releases. In this three-part series, we’re looking at each of these companies in their first year and evaluate where each of them stands today in what is now a very competitive market.

Who thinks wedding photography has become a bit predictable this year? Boring, even? Sure, the first time you see a teeny tiny couple lost in a massive landscape, it's impressive. Or a backlit couple in profile. Or a couple shot through loads of out of focus lights. Or hand in hand, silhouetted, between fairy lights, having just stepped over a prism and climbing a mountain (because that’s what happens on a wedding day).

A neat way to present a recap of a trip is to take all the photographs taken over many days -- both keepers and unwanted shots -- and string them together into a fast-paced time-lapse video. A problem with this type of video, however, is that the photos often fly by so quickly that it's difficult for your brain to distinguish between them and to pick out "highlights."
Australian photographer Marcus Round of Brisbane, Queensland tells us that an easy way to make these videos a little easier to consume is to help surface the best shots by allowing them to linger.
Here's a gallery of 83 of the best photographs captured by Pete Souza, the official White House photographer for President Obama. You can view thumbnails of the entire set here.
