As a photographer that isn't associated with any news media, it can sometimes be difficult to get access to certain opportunities. With space, this is especially true, since access normally means the ability to place a camera near a launchpad in areas that are heavily restricted. This is a story of how it can never hurt to ask for permission.
Take note: even the animal kingdom hates it when you use your iPad to take photos. At least that's what seems to be happening in this video, when a playful (or annoyed) dolphin snatches an iPad right out of a woman's hand and drags it into the water.
As Barack Obama nears the end of his 8-year tenure as President of the United States, White House photographer Peta Souza has been looking back at the nearly 2 million photos he's taken of the sitting president. But Souza may have only yesterday taken his most widely-seen photo of the president... a photo he likely wishes he never had to take.
If you're into Golf, you might have heard about this controversy over the most recent cover of Golf Digest. Apparently, the magazine erred when it decided to put Paulina Gretzky (daughter of famed hockey player Wayne Gretzky and fiancé of pro golfer Dustin Johnson) on the cover instead of an actual... you know... golfer.
But rather than get caught up in all that, Orlando-based photographer Cy Cyr decided to spoof the cover instead.
Earlier this week, the photography staff of the Orlando Sentinel in Florida was pulled into a meeting in which they were told that their current jobs are disappearing, and they will need to apply to new more 'videocentric' positions by tomorrow, Friday, February 28th.
