These Space Photos Were Made by Scanning Things Found in a Kitchen
For the past couple of years, photographer Navid Baraty has been experimenting with the idea of creating photographs of the universe without having to leave his home... and without having to point a camera up at the sky. His WANDER Space Probe series of images may resemble photos captured by NASA using its Hubble telescope camera, but the photos were actually created by putting ordinary kitchen items on an Epson flatbed scanner.
Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC, Photographed From High Above
This past Thanksgiving, Brooklyn-based photographer Navid Baraty attended and photographed the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. However, he didn't shoot the festivities in the way that most people do (from the ground). Instead, he went high overhead to the roof of a tall building to capture everything from a birds-eye-view.

New York-based photographer Navid Baraty has a series of incredibly beautiful rain photographs made in San Francisco and Japan. We first came across the photograph above, titled "Rain Dance", in Pictory's "San Francisco" showcase. It was taken in San Francisco's Union Square with a Nikon D700. There's just something about the composition and lighting that blew us away.
