It’s perhaps ironic that it was during our Street Photography trip to New York that we chose Havana, Cuba as our next destination. Ironic because we didn’t know then that the two week period we chose would see the first visit of a sitting U.S. President to the city in 90 years and with it an air of expectancy and change in a country unlike any other.
Fujifilm helped kick off the mirrorless camera revolution back in 2012 by announcing the powerful retro-styled X-Pro1 camera. Now it appears that a follow-up will soon be upon us: the first official photos of the new Fujifilm X-Pro2 have leaked.
One of Fuji Rumors' "trusted" Japanese sources is correcting previous speculation that Fuji is planning to go full-frame with the X-Pro2, which is great news for people who have invested in Fuji lenses, but bad news for anybody who has been holding out hope that the company would give larger sensors a try (well, there's still the medium format rumors...).
Murmurings that Fujifilm will be one of the next companies to introduce a full-frame mirrorless camera aren't new. The X200 is supposedly going to be full-frame and Fuji's executives themselves confirmed that they "would like to challenge" the full-frame market when they spoke to DPReview at CP+.
Pilling on to all this talk is a new piece of info sent to Fuji Rumors that seems to indicate the X200 isn't the only camera Fuji might be packing a full-frame sensor into. According to the tipster -- who is a new source, so extra salt on this one -- the X-Pro2 is also going to be a full-frame camera.
If you follow the rumor mill -- and given how accurate rumor sites have gotten lately, many people do -- you'll know that the next big Fuji release was rumored by some to be the X-Pro1S. That, it seems, may have changed since the release of the X-T1.
