LSU photography student Katie Joy Crawford has personally struggled with general anxiety disorder for over a decade. For her senior thesis exhibition, she chose to make her inner experience the subject of a series of self-portraits. The project is titled "My Anxious Heart."
We’ve all had a relationship that just ended, either on a good note or bad note, leaving us with a longing, empty feeling. To our detriment, it's a feeling that often has us latching onto every last memory and connection to that relationship that is left to us.
And it’s this exact clinging and longing that HERCLAYHEART, a photographer/writer duo consisting of Carla Richmond Coffing and Hanne Steen, wanted to capture in their powerful collaborative series Lovers Shirts.
Inspired by that which we cannot see -- such as the shapes of sound, the feelings we experience, the relationships of the various patterns in this world, and the energy constantly emitted by matter -- photographer Patrick Rochon has created a beautiful series of light-painting photographs called Radiant Light.
Researchers at the University of Leuven in Belgium are embarking on an interesting mission, and they need the help of willing photographers. What they're attempting to do is create a database of photos based on how they make the viewer feel. The project and website, dubbed Pictures With Feelings, can then be used to further our knowledge about human emotion and how specific moods come about.
