How Not to Photograph a Deer in the Wild from a Safe Distance

Back in March 2011, British adventure photographer Dan Milner went on a 9-day photo shoot in the Scottish Highlands for Transworld Snowboarding magazine. While there, he endured blizzards, 100MPH winds, -20° temperatures, and being headbutted in the lens by a wild stag.

It's true: the video above proves it.

Cameraman Captures What It’s Like to Be Targeted as Food by a Polar Bear

If you ever find yourself wondering what it's like to be hunted by a hungry polar bear, just ask filmmaker Gordon Buchanan. While shooting wildlife imagery in Svalbard, Norway for a BBC series titled The Polar Bear Family and Me, Buchanan was approached by a giant 1,000lb, 8-foot-tall polar bear. Luckily for Buchanan, he was in a tiny Plexiglas enclosure. Luckily for the BBC, Buchanan was able to capture the 45-minute ordeal on film.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Master Tweets Photos of “Mugging Attempt” as it Unfolds

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter Renzo Gracie was walking on the sidewalk at 22nd street and 10th avenue in Manhattan last night, when he noticed two shady-looking fellows following him. Suspecting that they were planning to mug him, Gracie began sending live tweets and photos to his 100,000+ followers on Twitter. Once the two men finally approached him, asking for a cigarette, he decided to launch a preemptive strike by beating the crap out of the would-be assailants... while live-blogging the whole thing.

Disturbing Attack on Photographer Aired by Discovery Channel Reality Show

People do some pretty dumb things on reality TV shows, but perhaps none more asinine than this. During the filming of the Discovery Channel's reality TV show The Devils Ride back in January, the camera crew captured footage of a confrontation between one of the show's subjects and photographer Ashi Fachler, who was taking pictures from a public sidewalk. Here's the description of the clip above (warning: it's pretty disturbing):

When a photographer gets too close to a group of club wives and girlfriends enjoying a dinner out, Charles, a Laffing Devils prospect, steps in.

In case you didn't catch that, Fachler was assaulted by a number of people involved in the show simply because he was getting too close while photographing from a public space.
