Ford Blends Cars Into Scenes Using Paint Instead of Photoshop

Chinese photographer Liu Bolin (AKA "The Invisible Man") has received quite a bit of attention over the past seven years for his self-portraits showing himself blending into various scenes with a carefully painted body rather than digital manipulation. His photographs have attracted the attention of Ford, which recently commissioned Liu to create a series of advertisements to promote the 2013 Ford Fusion.

Polaroid Land Camera Advertisements from the 1950s and 1960s

Back in the 1950s and 1960s, Polaroid sponsored shows like "The Tonight Show" during which the hosts would take time to endorse the cameras during the show itself rather than cut to commercials. The montage above takes viewers back to a time when fancy new Polaroid cameras cost $69.95 -- or $1.19 a week.

Clever Photos Showing Famous Movie Posters from Behind

Here's a clever advertisement idea done by Brazilian ad agency Y&R Sao Paulo and photographer LĂșcio Cunha. They took the iconic posters of famous movies (Kill Bill, Forrest Gump, and Pretty Women) and created photos showing what they would look like if viewed from behind.

Photographer Bjoern Ewers directed this creative advertising campaign for the Berlin Philharmonic orchestra that shows beautiful views of the insides of various instruments. Shot using a macro lens, each one looks more like a giant music hall than a musical instrument.

Here's an amazingly cute idea for baby portraits: dress them up as adults while they're sleeping. Photographer Handri Karya and ad agency Grey Group made these photographs as part of an ad campaign for Indonesian mattress company Comforta.

Brothers Printer Ads Creatively Blend Stop Motion with Time Lapse

Here are a couple new commercials for Brothers printers that blend stop-motion and time-lapse photography in pretty interesting ways with real people. We love how the technique makes the people look like claymation figures walking around in miniature sets. The foreground is done in stop-motion while time-lapse photography provided the scenes shown in the animated paper.

It would have been crazy if they had actually printed out each individual paper of the scene on the wall.

Ads Coming Soon to a Photo Near You

You've probably seen in-video advertising, but how about ads placed in images? A company called Image Space Media wants to make sure you do.

Established in 2008, they're the first and leading provider of in-image advertising on the web. This means relevant advertisements are placed in an overlay that appears over a portion of an image or photograph, just like the advertisements YouTube places at the bottom of most videos.

Would You Like a Portrait with Your Burger?

Burger King recently partnered up with marketing agency Ogilvy for a unique "Have It Your Way" campaign. In order to convey how personalized the orders are, they used a hidden camera and printer to slap a candid photograph of the customer's face right on the burger wrapper. A separate hidden camera was used to document the reactions of the customers after seeing themselves on their food.

Samsung Shipping Container Camera

There's a new video on YouTube showing a gigantic shipping container camera promoting a Samsung camera. In the video, bystanders can actually use the "camera" by inserting some money into a coin slot, and then having someone jump onto the massive shutter button on top of the shipping container. The resulting photograph is then displayed on a gigantic screen atop a nearby building.
