"Fortuitous Layers" is a project by photographer Adam Allegro, who used an old Kodak Reflex II from 1948 to shoot random double exposures of San Francisco.
Here's an interesting 26-minute documentary about the life and work of 20th-century-photographer Edward Weston, a man who is considered to be one of the most influential American photographers and one of the masters of photography during his era. The 1948 film, titled "The Photographer," was shot by American filmmaker Willard Van Dyke, an apprentice of Weston's, who went on to become a very notable photographer in his own right.
New York Times photographer Damon Winter shot a neat portrait project earlier this year during the London Olympics. Titled Their Golden Years, the Times tracked down former athletes who represented the United States of America during the 1948 Olympic games, which were also held in London. The project provides a neat little biographical glimpse into each athletes life, using before-and-after photos, a brief description of what they did, and short audio interviews in which they share some memories.
