Nikon Loses First Battle in Patent Fight Against Zeiss and ASML –ED

The District Court of The Hague has ruled that Zeiss and ASML did not infringe upon one of the 11 patents Nikon filed lawsuits over in 2017. Nikon has been ordered to pay €475,000 (~$560,000) in court fees.

Nikon sued the two companies in April 2017, accusing them of infringing upon its patents related to semiconductor lithography, which are core components of consumer electronics. Zeiss and ASML responded by countersuing.
