After countless (and perhaps intentional?) leaks, the not-so-secret Fujifilm FinePix X10 has finally become official. Like the X100, the X10 boasts a sleek retro design and a 12-megapixel sensor — though the X10 uses a much smaller 2/3-inch sensor rather than APS-C. Instead of a fixed 35mm equivalent lens, the X10 packs a versatile 28-112mm equivalent f/2-2.8 manual lens. Other features include RAW capture, an optical viewfinder, a 2.8-inch LCD screen, a pop-up flash, ISO that goes up to 12800, 1080p HD video, a blazing 10fps burst mode (7fps on max res), and a hot shoe.

Rumors about Fujifilm’s upcoming “mini-X100″ is heating up. The word on the street is that the camera will be announced on Thursday, and that it will officially be called the “X10″ rather than the “X50″. There were also some new photos of the camera leaked onto the web in addition to the blurry Promaster catalog photo we shared last week.

Fujifilm’s retro-tastic X100 has been selling like hotcakes since hitting shelves earlier this year, and the company is reportedly primed for another big announcement: the X50. According to rumors swirling around the web, the X50 will be a smaller and cheaper relative of the X100 that uses the same sleek design.

While both cameras shoot 12 megapixel photos, the X50 will use a 2/3-inch sensor (smaller than Micro Four Thirds cameras) instead of the APS-C one found in the X100. The camera is also rumored to have an optical viewfinder, raw capabilities, and 1080p video recording. What’s most attractive is the price: instead of the $1200 price tag found on the X100, the X50 will cost just $600. Expect to see an announcement within the next few weeks.
