Image Toaster Burns a Random Picture Onto Your Toast Each Morning

Here’s a fun contraption that could make breakfast that much more photographic each morning. The Image Toaster by Scott van Haastrecht searches Google Images for that day’s date every morning, and then burns a randomly chosen result onto your toast at 6×6 pixels.

Of course, at that resolution, it certainly won’t replace a gander through the morning’s paper (do people still read newspapers?), but it’s a fun idea that could some day turn your toast into a daily work of art (or news). For now the prototype still needs to be connected to a computer to do its thing, but Haastrecht hopes to have it working off of nothing more than WiFi and a power cord in the near future.

Wedding Photographer Stealthiness Fail

Say you’re shooting a wedding, and say for some reason you’re taking a food break, and say for some other reason you happen to be taking that break while the father is giving a toast you should probably be taking pictures of. You’d think that given all of that, you’d at least keep a low profile…

OK Go Music Video Uses Stop Motion and 2,430 Pieces of Toast

OK Go, the kings of viral music videos, just released their latest video for the song “Last Leaf“. It’s a stop motion video in which individual pieces of toast are used as each frame of the animation. 15 still shots (made with the Samsung NX100) were used for each second in the resulting video, with the final video using 2,430 pieces of toast.
