Little Astronaut Discovers Our World in Touching Father/Son Photo Project

There was a time when what you consider your "day-to-day," with all its errands and monotony, was new and fresh. A time when each trip outside was a foray into the great unknown. That's the feeling that photographer dad Aaron Sheldon and his 4-year-old son capture in their photo project Small Steps Are Giant Leaps.

The Photography of 4-Year-Old Hawkeye Huey, Son of Nat Geo Photographer Aaron Huey

There's an intensity on Hawkeye Huey's face as he looks out from Salvation Mountain in California, Fujifilm Instax 210 in hand, goggles askew on his forehead, eyes searching the horizon for the next exposure. It's the kind of intensity typified by at least two kinds of people: 4-year-olds and National Geographic photographers.

Which makes sense, since Hawkeye is the first, and his father, celebrated photographer Aaron Huey, is the second.

Heartwarming Time-Lapse Shows a Day of Play Between Father and Son

Emio Tomeoni often plays with his toddler son Xavier while his wife Stephanie is at work, due to her often irregular hours. Recently, he decided that instead of simply telling his wife what transpired over the course of a day, he would show her through pictures -- many, many pictures.

Tomeoni set up a camera in the corner of his living room and created a time-lapse video of a day of their play, showing himself and Xavier moving about the room, tinkering with different toys and structures, and enjoying hours of loving merrymaking.
