Check out this vintage photo of a halloween party group portrait. It might be hard to believe, but it’s not actually a photograph, but a pencil drawing by 28-year-old Scottish artist Paul Chiappe. He creates insanely detailed artworks that look just like old, fading, blurry, black-and-white photographs from decades ago. The “photos” show family pictures, elementary school class pictures, and even standard yearbook pictures.

This cute little vintage twin-lens reflex camera by Chinese stationary company deli is actually a pencil sharpener in disguise. Instead of loading it with film, simply stick a pencil into the top “lens” and turn the handle on the back to sharpen it. It has an adjustable sharpness knob, and the top half pulls out when you need to dump the pencil shavings.

Pencil Vs Camera! is a wonderful series of photographs by Belgian photographer and painter Ben Heine in which he blends his pencil sketches with photographs to create new realities:

Heine tells us,

Pencil vs. Camera! is the continuation of many years of graphic research. These pictures show not only the battle between photography and drawing, but also between reality and imagination. I think this work can lead to many different forms of expression, because it gives a clear message while traveling into surreal worlds in the same time.
