First Ever Movie Filmed Entirely by Cats

Back in August 2010, Friskies selected 25 cats around the country and gave them the hardship privilege of wearing a camera around their necks, documenting their lives over the course of 5 days. The resulting footage was edited into “Cat Diaries”, the first movie to be filmed entirely by cats. It’s a unique look into what it’s like to see and explore the world as a cat.

Next time they should figure out a way to attach a chicken to the cats to stabilize the footage.

Rotating Memory Card Reader You Can Keep Attached to Your Laptop

Rotating Memory Card Reader You Can Keep Attached to Your Laptop sdreader

If you have a laptop that doesn’t have memory card slots built in, then you probably know how annoying it is to have to plug in a card reader every time you transfer photos. The new MR-C25 Series of memory card readers by Elecom tries to solve this problem by making the USB card reader sit flush against the side of your laptop, meaning they can stay attached to your laptop when you stow it away. They also have a 180 degree rotating body that allows you to access other ports that might be blocked. It’ll start selling sometime this month, but no word on how much it will cost.

Happy Meal Photographed Weekly Shows No Change After Half Year

Happy Meal Photographed Weekly Shows No Change After Half Year happymeal

New York City photographer Sally Davies purchased a McDonalds Happy Meal on April 10th of this year and left it out uncovered on her coffee table to prove wrong a friend who said it would rot after only a few days. After about two weeks of photographing the food, Davies realized that absolutely nothing was happening, so she began taking pictures once a week. After 180 days Davies shot the 27th photograph, with the meal looking almost identical to when she first bought it. The 1st and 27th photograph taken half a year apart are shown above.

Thanks to Davies, we now know that if your project involves making a time-lapse of food decomposing, you probably don’t want to go with McDonalds. You can also stock up on Happy Meals if you’re wary of a zombie apocalypse.

Check out the entire project on this Flickr set.

At Photokina 2010 Pentax had a toy capsule vending machine that spit out mini Pentax DSLR cameras in exchange for coins. The colorful cameras are made to attach to standard hot shoes, giving your camera a little buddy while shooting.

If only the toy capsule machines at the grocery store dispensed these things!
